Riverland Special School has officially opened their new inclusive playground, designed so all students can play and have fun together.
Variety SA contributed $84,000 towards the "We Go Swing", which will benefit students at the school as well as the wider Riverland community.
The swing can be used by both ambulant and non-ambulant children of all abilities and ages, without the need for wheelchair transfer, allowing students to use it independently and alongside their peers. It is installed within the general playground, making it accessible to all students, including secondary students from Berri High School who attend weekly classes at the site.
Local SA Variety Bash Car DOO – Scooby Doo also made a special appearance at the opening. Their presence was a meaningful reminder of how the generosity of Variety's motoring entrants directly translates into projects like this one, giving fundraisers the chance to see their efforts come to life in the communities that need it most.
