We couldn’t do what we do, without you!

From helping at events to supporting families and fundraising activities, your time, energy and kindness help create brighter futures for kids who need it most.
If you’ve ever thought about donating your time to a worthy cause, then look no further than our Volunteering Program. Whether you’re a member of the community, looking to help out at night or on weekends, or part of a corporate team looking to engage your staff through social responsibility initiatives, there are so many ways to get involved with Variety!
Why volunteer for Variety?
When you volunteer with Variety, you’re not just giving your time — you’re giving children the chance to live, laugh and learn. As a volunteer, you’ll see the impact of your efforts up close, whether you’re cheering at a Variety Kids’ event or lending a hand behind the scenes. You’ll become part of a caring community of supporters, partners and other volunteers who share your passion for helping kids reach their potential.
Volunteering is also a great way to use your skills for good. From event logistics and administration to photography and fundraising, there’s a place for everyone at Variety. Along the way, you’ll make new friends, have fun and create lifelong memories — all while knowing you’re making a real difference in the lives of children and families across Australia.

Did you know?

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our communities and their impact is enormous!

Volunteering isn’t just good for the community — it’s good for you. Studies show volunteers experience a 4.3% boost in wellbeing and a greater sense of belonging and purpose.
Around one in three Australians aged 15 and over take part in formal volunteering, but there’s always room for more helping hands.
People who volunteer regularly report feeling happier, more connected, and more confident in everyday life.*

*Volunteering Australia
More than 14 million Australians give their time each year to help others, contributing around 3.2 billion hours of volunteer work nationwide.
Every volunteer hour makes a difference. Whether you’re helping at an event, supporting a program or sharing your skills, you’re part of something much bigger — a community of people changing children’s lives, one act of kindness at a time.
Hear from Our Volunteers
Thanks so much for the opportunity to volunteer at such a special event. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves being helpers for the kids to get on and off the rides in the main arena. It was a lot of fun watching the children laugh and ask to go faster and I bet they were as tired as us when they went home that evening!
